![]() Nik is a maker, day dreamer and potty mouth who loves cats, coffee and craft beer. I also made another pair using a bigger pom pom maker and three different colors of yarn, the options are endless! Hold the chain/pom pom up to your ear to make sure it’s the right length and then attach it to an ear wire at the top of the chain. Tie the two pieces of floss at the bottom securely in a knot and trim. Thread it through one end of your chain and then back down close to where you came up, and back out through the bottom of the pom pom. Pierce the needle through one end of the pom pom leaving one end of the floss out at the bottom. To secure the pom poms to the chain, take another 6 inch piece of embroidery floss and thread it through a needle. You can cut them shorter at the top once they are attached to the pom poms as well. The length will depend on how low you want your earrings to hang. Using wire cutters, cut two lengths from your fine chain. Trim the pom pom to your liking with a sharp pair of scissors, I like doing this over a tray of some sort for easy cleanup. Open one arm at a time on each side & then pull the pieces apart in the middle to free the pom pom. Using about a 6 inch piece of embroidery floss around the center, tie it tightly and make a knot or two (this is what will keep all the yarn together and complete the pom pom). Cut the yarn open down the arms on each side, hold the maker securely so it doesn’t come apart during this. Once that’s done, cut the ends, close those arms and do the same on the other side.Ģ. ![]() To make a nice full fluffy pom pom, it’s best to wrap the yarn until it’s almost flush with the bottom of the arms. Line the strands up and start wrapping them evenly around the arms of the pom pom maker. ![]() To make a multicolored pom pom like the ones I did, choose 2-3 colors of yarn you’d like. Open one of the sides of the pom pom maker. Embroidery floss in corresponding colors to your yarnġ. Yarn of your choice- I used Fair Isle Liberty Chunky Yarn Clover Pom Pom Maker Kit ( I like this one because it comes with a few different sizes) Let me show you how you can make a pair of your own! WHAT TO GET: They are so fun and easy to wear, plus I get compliments on them all the time. If there’s anything I love more than wearing jewelry, it’s being able to DIY it! I started making these pom pom earrings a few years ago and I just love them.
